How to make easy Iced Mango Latte at home
Summer brings a special feeling. Those long summer school holidays of childhood, days that often come to mind. There was the dust of playing in the afternoon on holidays and the anticipation of the mango season. Just like we used to run to the fridge to eat something cold after playing in the afternoon sun, this drink today brings that same satisfying feeling: the Iced Mango Latte.
Back then, my mother used to make ripe mango sorbet from the fridge. Adding a handful of ice to that cold sorbet seemed like the most delicious drink in life. Even though I’ve grown up and become addicted to the taste of coffee, when summer comes, that old mango craving never goes away!
And so now, let’s mix the two memories of mango and coffee into one great recipe. That’s why I gave it the name Iced Mango Latte.
This iced mango latte is not just a drink, it’s like a cup of childhood memories and a story of growing up
Why try an Iced Mango Latte?
We know about classic lattes, they are so much popular worldwide. It’s loved for its creamy texture and coffee flavor. Adding mango provides natural sweetness and vitamins. Mango is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and fiber, which makes this drink not only delicious but also nutritious. Plus, it feels like heaven when you sip something cold on a hot summer day.
If you love fruity coffee drinks but want to avoid added sugar or artificial flavors, then the Iced Mango Latte is a refreshing option for you. It’s an option you can customize to your liking.
What You'll Need
Before we get started, let’s take a look at what you’ll need to make an iced mango latte at home:
- 1 large ripe mango (or about a cup of mango slices)
- 1 shot (or 60 ml) of espresso or strong coffee
- 1 cup of milk (dairy or any plant-based milk like almond, oat, or coconut)
- Ice cubes, as much as you like
- Natural sweetener like honey, sugar, or maple syrup (optional)
- A dash of vanilla extract (optional)
Equipment
- Blender machine
- Tall serving glass
- Spoon or stirrer
- Strainer (if needed)
Step-by-Step Instructions For Iced Mango Latte
Step 1: Making The Mango Puree
First, wash your ripe mango well, then peel it and cut it into thin pieces. Now, put these pieces in your blender machine and add a little bit of milk, now blend until smooth.
If your mango tastes less sweet then normal, then add a teaspoon of honey or sugar to taste. One more thing, if there are any fibers in the mango, strain it through a strainer.
Step 2: Making The Espresso
Make a fresh espresso shot or use strong black coffee. If you want to make espresso at home, check out how to make espresso without machine at home. For strong black coffee you can use instant coffee. However, be careful not to let the coffee get too hot, as it will cause the ice to melt too quickly when you pour the hot espresso over the ice.
Step 3: Thicken The Milk
Take about 1 cup of full cream milk in a small saucepan. Place it on the stove over medium heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the milk reduces slightly and thickens. If you want a creamier taste, you can add 1-2 teaspoons of condensed milk. However, in that case, you will not need to add sugar separately.
Once it thickens, remove from the stove and let it cool. If you want to cool it faster, put it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. The thickened milk in this way will give your iced mango latte a a smooth, rich, and luxurious texture.
Step 4: Add Flavor And Sweetener (Optional)
If you want, you can add a teaspoon of honey, sugar, or any sweetener of your choice to the milk at this point. And if you want a little vanilla flavor, you can also add a few drops of vanilla extract.
Step 5: Making The Latte
Take a tall and preferably clear glass. First, pour 3-4 teaspoons of mango puree into the bottom of the glass. Then add ice cubes half-way up the glass. Now slowly pour in the cold milk. Then slowly pour the cold coffee over the milk. This will create a beautiful layered effect inside the glass.
Step 6: Stir And Enjoy!
To mix all the ingredients together nicely, stir gently with a long spoon or stirrer. Also, you can leave a slightly transparent layer if you want, but it still looks pretty!
You’ll feel it at first sip… How the sweetness of ripe mango, the softness of milk, and the deep flavor of coffee combine to create a whole new flavor experience!
The perfect companion on a hot afternoon, this Iced Mango Latte!

The real attraction of this recipe is the mango. So always try to use the ripest, sweetest and juiciest mangoes. This will give your latte a natural sweetness and a rich flavor.
Chill the milk and coffee beforehand:
If you chill the coffee and milk in the refrigerator beforehand, the drink will stay cold longer even after adding ice to the glass.
Experiment with milk:
If you want to add a little variety, you can use coconut milk for tropical vibes, almond milk for a nutty feel or you can use oat milk for extra creaminess. Each will give a different taste.
Add a touch of spice:
If you want, you can sprinkle a little cinnamon or nutmeg on top. This will give your latte a whole new warm and comforting flavor.
FAQs
Can I use canned or frozen mango instead of fresh mango?
Of course! Using frozen mango pieces will make the drink even colder. Just take them out a little earlier and thaw it slightly, then blend. You can also use canned mango, but try to use one that doesn’t have added sugar, it will have a more natural flavor.
Can kids drink this?
If you want a caffeine-free version for kids, you can just make a mango milkshake-style drink without the coffee.
Is fresh mango better than store-bought mango puree?
Fresh mangoes bring out a more vibrant, natural flavor. But if you’re short on time, canned mango pulp or even a good quality mango syrup can be a great alternative.
Is Iced mango latte sweet?
Yes, but how sweet you want it is up to you. Ripe mangoes are naturally sweet, but you can add honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup if needed.
